Chocolate coin recall?
A friend of mine just called me because she got a text from another friend about a recall on the chocolate coin candy- that it contains melamine, which has caused death in children in China. So I dug around and found this and this.

Cross-posted.

ETA: The candy recall is in effect in Canada, as that is the only country affected by the product.

I found the most wonderful book
I was at the Dollar Tree yesterday and found The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering. It looked interesting so I went ahead and bought it, and last night before bed I read the entire thing. Not only the story, but the story behind the story.

This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read!

It's the story of how two grandmothers decide to change the world by going to the park and "Not speaking. Not looking at squirrels. Not munching on coconut candy. In actual point of fact, not anything at all." Soon the whole town is talking about them, then the nation, and soon the world.

It's an excellent book filled with a powerful message and I really feel that everyone should read it and share it with their children, friends, and family.

Hello from your friendly neighborhood moderator!

I am 34, engaged to a wonderful person, and the biomom of 3 and bonusmom of 2 wonderful children.

Our family is unique in a lot of ways. Our children all get along, all of the parents and grandparents get along, and we have well established good co-parenting in place on all sides.

Of course there are problems now and then, but overall I think we have a good handle on things.
